Pyrrolidine, also known as tetrahydropyrrole, is a saturated five-membered heterocyclic ring, which is miscible with water. Pyrrolidine exists in many alkaloids and drug molecules, such as kappa opioids, antagonists of dopamine D4 receptors, and HIV reverse transcriptase inhibitors.
Benzothiazines are well‐recognized compounds in medicinal chemistry, and many derivatives have been explored as target structures in drug development. Fused-benzothiazines are of much interest for various fields of science as these scaffolds demonstrate a wide spectrum of biological applications like anti-microbial, anti-malarial, anti-cancer, anti-viral, ant-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, etc.
